According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sanphet Bunyamanee, Deputy Minister of Transport, visited the site of the boat dock collapse near the pier of Thai Central Chemical Company, opposite Soi Suk Sawat 84, Suk Sawat Road, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province. He instructed the Marine Department and related agencies to provide full assistance to those affected.
The incident occurred at 12:22 PM. A report was received that a person had fallen into the water. During operations in the area, officers from the Marine Department, Marine Police, the Phra Chulachomklao Disaster Relief Radio Center, rescue units, and other relevant agencies immediately mobilized to assist in the search and rescue operation.
According to initial reports, two people were injured and taken to Paolo Phra Pradaeng Hospital. One was taken to hospital, while the other was rescued and brought ashore by officials before being transported to the hospital. One person is still missing, and search efforts are underway. Preliminary findings indicate that one dumping barge and one barge carrying a backhoe have been damaged by water and are tilting. The incident occurred in an area where dredging projects are underway at the pier. An investigation into the details and cause of the accident is ongoing. The company confirms that there are no dangerous gas pipes as previously reported.
