Bangkok: The Prime Minister opened the THAILAND² event, bringing together five ministries to enhance the capabilities of Thai people. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized human capital as the heart of national development at the event's opening, aiming to upgrade the skills of Thai people through upskilling and reskilling initiatives. He stressed unity in government efforts, stating, "We love each other so much."
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the ceremony titled 'Thailand² Empowering Thailand, Upgrading Human Capital,' a collaboration among five ministries. This initiative focuses on human capital development, involving the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS). A national strategy was announced for human resource development to drive the new economy, highlighting the ministries' achievements in this area over the past 90 days.
Prime Minister Anutin expressed gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Yotsanu Wongsawat for the event invitation. The event aims to develop human capital across all age groups and upgrade Thailand's economic engines, focusing on enhancing the performance of the ministries under Mr. Yotsanu's supervision. He emphasized the government's unified approach, aiming to support and drive efforts for national benefit.
Anutin highlighted the global challenges of a declining population, rapidly changing technology, and volatile geopolitics, stressing the need for adaptable human capital. He noted the significance of global leaders in technology investment, emphasizing the need for Thailand to prioritize human capital development to avoid falling behind.
During discussions with Chinese leaders, Anutin underscored the competition in knowledge and technology, prompting several MOUs with China to enhance human resources. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing education access for all ages and encouraging lifelong learning to adapt to changes, emphasizing the importance of addressing mental health.
Anutin acknowledged the dedication of the ministries involved, noting their dynamic work over the past four months. He praised the ministers' cooperation and thorough preparation, which aids in integrating and enhancing Thai people's potential. The collaboration of the ministries is seen as a critical mechanism for national progress.
