Hat yai: The Prime Minister personally visited Hat Yai to distribute relief bags and consumer goods to affected residents, emphasizing the importance of registering for the upcoming 9,000 baht relief payment as part of the recovery measures.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul was received at Wing 56 in Khlong Hoi Khong District, Songkhla Province, by local officials including Songkhla Governor Narongporn Na Phatthalung and former Deputy Minister of Interior Niphon Bunyamanee. The Prime Minister’s visit aimed to assess the flood situation and address immediate needs.
The delegation proceeded to the 42nd Military Circle in Hat Yai District to review flood damage reports. They toured affected areas using a GMC forklift to observe the cleanup efforts in progress. Streets were lined with debris and damaged goods, awaiting collection by municipal services.
During the visit, the Prime Minister engaged with local officials to discuss necessary aid for residents, highlighting the need for basic appliances and cooking facilities. He visited Wat Khok Saman Khun, where he distributed essential supplies such as food, water, and medicine to those affected by the floods.
The Prime Minister also introduced a financial support program, offering loans of up to 100,000 baht at 0% interest for six months to a year, aimed at helping residents rebuild their lives. He assured residents of the swift implementation of the relief payment program, set to commence registration next week, along with zero-interest loan opportunities.
