Prime Minister Ekniti Urges Swift SEC Investigation into Supaporn Pimphong’s Shareholdings

Bangkok: Prime Minister Ekniti has instructed the SEC Secretary to expedite the investigation into Supaporn, an unidentified individual who is a major shareholder in several companies listed on the Thai stock exchange.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Ekniti Nitithanprapas, has revealed that the Ministry of Finance has directed the Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to fast-track the investigation into Ms. Supaporn Pimphong's declaration of shareholdings. The directive aims to ensure transparency throughout the process, as the situation is believed to impact investor confidence and the SEC's operational integrity.

The investigation focuses on previous inquiries regarding Ms. Supaporn's notification of shareholdings, particularly her ownership of more than 7% of TRUE shares and her stakes in five other companies. The origins of these shares and her investor background remain unclear, necessitating a thorough investigation to uphold market transparency and investor trust.
