Bangkok: The Prime Minister has asserted that legal procedures must be adhered to in the case concerning the removal of Dr. Soran from the chairmanship of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has disclosed his awareness of the selection committee's decision regarding Dr. Soran's disqualification from his role due to certain characteristics that violate the Frequency Allocation Act of 2010. Despite this awareness, Charnvirakul mentioned that he has yet to receive an official letter on the matter. He acknowledged that Dr. Soran has the right to appeal the decision, as it is within his legal rights.
In an interview, Charnvirakul emphasized that although he was informed about the selection committee's unanimous decision, he had not received a comprehensive report or official notification. He reiterated that all proceedings are being handled in accordance with legal requirements. Charnvirakul also noted that any retroactive decisions from 2022 and other related issues that have already been signed would be addressed through legal channels. He stressed the importance of following legal procedures and clarified that the matter had not yet progressed to the point of appeal.
