Hat yai: Prime Minister Pan vowed not to take any further action but said he would wait and see about resigning before his term ended. He insisted he would “do his utmost,” and that it was up to the people if they wanted to collect signatures to oust him from office.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Narongporn Na Phatthalung, or Mayor Pan, the Mayor of Hat Yai Municipality, gave an interview to the media this morning regarding his announcement that he would no longer pursue politics after the floods. He stated, “I’m not playing any more games. I’m not playing any more games. That’s all.”
When questioned about the timing of his resignation or his plans to step down to focus on his family, Prime Minister Pan ambiguously responded, “Let’s see.”
Addressing concerns from the people of Hat Yai who are preparing to oust him, Mayor Pan emphasized that he has done his best and reiterated his commitment to his duties.
Regarding the people’s petition to remove him, Prime Minister Pan remarked that the decision rested with the populace.
When asked about the possibility of legal actions against him, Mayor Pan noted that it would depend on future developments. He refrained from answering whether he would fulfill his term or resign before attending a meeting on the Hat Yai city restoration plan between the public and private sectors at the Buri Sriphu Hotel in Hat Yai.
