Bangkok: The Prime Minister, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, held a crucial meeting focused on the status of Thai tourism, announcing a substantial budget of 157 billion baht aimed at invigorating the sector. The meeting included key figures such as Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, and Pol. Gen. Kittiratt Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of tourism as a primary economic driver. She highlighted that the substantial budget investment in tourism is crucial for enhancing the appeal and infrastructure of tourist attractions. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of integrating public relations, safety measures, convenience, tourism activities, and infrastructure development to achieve sustainable growth in the sector.
The Prime Minister further noted that the progress in the first quarter indicates that tourism holds potential for success if there is integrated collaboration across various areas. She urged all parties involved to address any shortcomings and work together seamlessly to enhance the tourism experience in Thailand.
