Bangkok: The Prime Minister visited and gave encouragement to rescue workers from the collapsed Office of the Auditor General building. At 6:48 p.m. today (April 6, 2015), Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, traveled to provide encouragement and inspect the search and rescue operations for missing persons after the collapse of the new Office of the Auditor General building.
According to Thai News Agency, after arriving, the Prime Minister immediately walked into the command tent inside the construction site. She spent about 10 minutes talking and greeting rescue workers and volunteers before walking out to listen to the report of the death toll from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteer rescue workers, as well as asking about the work, obstacles, and additional needs. She also greeted the Army’s K9 dog handlers, who would be the main force tonight. The Prime Minister spent about 30 minutes giving encouragement and asking about obstacles and problems.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the government will accelerate all aspects, including compensation for damages, rescue, fact-finding, and working in all dimensions to the fullest.
