Prime Minister Yet to Discuss 500 Billion Baht Loan Law, Says Chusak

Bangkok: "Chusak" stated that the Prime Minister has not yet engaged in discussions regarding the 500 billion baht loan law. He emphasized that if the law is proposed as an emergency decree, it must fulfill the "urgent and urgent" conditions, failing which, the public may file a complaint in court.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, provided an update on the situation. He revealed that there has been no discussion between the Prime Minister and the Minister of Economic Affairs concerning the issuance of a Royal Decree or an Act to borrow 500 billion baht.

Mr. Chusak highlighted the importance of evaluating the reasons and necessity for such a decree, especially if it is to be enacted as an emergency measure. He explained that issuing an emergency decree is not a routine governmental action and should only be considered in cases of urgent necessity. Typically, the law requires a draft to be presented through the House of Representatives, which holds direct authority. He stressed that historically, only truly necessary cases have warranted an emergency decree, which comes with specific conditions. If these conditions are not met, it opens the door for a complaint to be filed with the Constitutional Court. As of now, no discussion on this matter has taken place.
