Bangkok: "Thep Bew" Puripol Boonsorn will lead the Thai athletics team in the 2026 Asian Relay Championships in China. The Athletics Association of Thailand, under the leadership of "Big Pae" Pol. Gen. Chakthip Chaijinda, dispatched a contingent of 16 Thai national athletes and coaches from Suvarnabhumi Airport on June 18, 2026. The team is set to compete in the 2nd Asian Relays Athletics Championships from June 20 to 21, 2026, in the People's Republic of China.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai athletics team is headlined by the accomplished "Bew" Puripol Boonsorn, a 20-year-old sprinter who has recently garnered attention by clinching a gold medal in the 200-meter race. His impressive time of 20.03 seconds at the International Athletics Competition in Taiwan not only won him the gold but also established a new record.
The roster of 16 Thai national track and field athletes includes notable names such as "Fighter" Natthawath Eiamudom, "Ta" Saroarat Dabbang, "Bew" Puripol Boonsorn, and "Tata" Chutithat Pruksornan. These athletes are poised to showcase their talents on the Asian stage.
The team is supported by a skilled group of staff and coaches. Mr. Anurak Saengiamjit serves as the team manager, with the coaching team comprising Mr. Gentry Bradley, Mr. Narong Nilploy, Petty Officer 1st Class Bandhit Chuanchai, and team staff member Mr. Amorntep Phetphrom.
