Hat yai: Safeflot Floattilla floating rescue raft delivers technology to help with flooding in southern Thailand. Flotilla Technology Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of SafeFloat smart floating walkways, has dispatched eight SafeFloat rescue floats and a team of 11 volunteers from Ban Pho District, Chachoengsao Province, to the flood-stricken Hat Yai District. Their mission: to provide crucial assistance to flood victims in the southern region.
According to Thai News Agency, the SafeFloat floating rafts were expertly modified to operate efficiently in both shallow and deep waters. Flotilla Technology rapidly mobilized additional rafts within 48 hours to meet the increasing demand for transport, as field teams reported chaotic conditions and an urgent need for assistance across various communities.
Traditional rescue methods like motorboats or jet skis face challenges during low water levels, impeding their effectiveness. In contrast, Flotilla’s floating rafts navigate smoothly even when water levels drop, allowing them to safely and efficiently deliver large quantities of relief supplies, including medical aid, to the sick, young children, and stranded residents. While these rafts are less mobile than motorboats, their ability to reach communities as water levels recede is invaluable.
The mission also benefited from generous donor support, which was utilized throughout the five-day operation. Any remaining donations were contributed to the Songklanagarind Hospital Foundation and the Rescue Foundation to further assist flood-affected communities.
