He stressed the necessity of fostering a digital economy with robust governance and ensuring that all nations have equal opportunities to engage in the development of technology and innovation.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting underscored the need for enhanced cooperation in combating cybercrime, acknowledging its widespread impact. Thailand has been endorsed to become a regional "cyber information exchange hub" and plans to host international meetings to deepen cooperative efforts in this area. The country aims to extend this initiative into a collaborative proposal for APEC in the future.
In parallel, Thailand is leveraging the APEC platform to accelerate talks with South Korea on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). This agreement seeks to boost trade and investment between the two nations and to advance the "creative economy" as a new regional influence, particularly in film, art, and fashion sectors. Thailand views this as a vital opportunity for the new generation to cultivate their ideas for sustainable global markets.
