Bangkok: Siripong confirms that the water leakage in the subway tunnel has not caused further subsidence. Siripong confirms that the water leakage in the southern section of the Purple Line MRT tunnel has not caused further subsidence.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Transport, and Mr. Worasit Liengprasit, Deputy Minister of Interior, visited the site to monitor the situation regarding water leakage in the Purple Line South tunnel. They revealed that experts have indicated the rate of road surface subsidence remains stable and shows no signs of increasing, therefore there is no cause for concern. Currently, they are preparing to inject liquid cement to fill the gaps, and officials are gradually pumping water out of the tunnel to maintain pressure balance between the inside and outside.

Regarding the building that previously showed cracks and popping sounds, engineering experts are closely monitoring the situation and confirm that the building has not experienced further subsidence, as its structure is built with relatively strong pile foundations.

Meanwhile, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has deployed monitoring teams and is on standby 24 hours a day.
