Sisaket: “Saeng” visits the province to inspect readiness ahead of tomorrow’s by-election for MPs. The Election Commission Secretary-General visited Sisaket Province to monitor and encourage officials preparing for the by-election for Sisaket Constituency 5, expressing confidence that the election will proceed smoothly and without any problems.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Saeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC), traveled to Khun Han District, Sisaket Province, to monitor and observe the receipt of election materials and equipment. He also offered encouragement to officials preparing for the by-election for the Member of Parliament in Sisaket Province, Constituency 5, which covers Khun Han and Phusing Districts, to fill a vacant position.
On this occasion, ballots and various materials were delivered to the Election Commission (ECC) at a total of 236 polling stations. After receiving them, they were stored in a secure location, awaiting actual use on the by-election day, which will be held on September 28, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Mr. Sa-nguan stated that all sectors are now fully prepared to organize the by-election and urged the people in Constituency 5 to come out and exercise their right to vote. They should bring their national ID card or other government-issued identification card and present it at the polling station listed on their list.
The situation in the border areas of both districts is currently under close monitoring, but there has been no impact on the election. The Sisaket Election Commission and its local team have prepared contingency plans to ensure the by-election proceeds smoothly and as planned. They are also coordinating with all relevant parties to ensure that this by-election produces qualified candidates, benefiting Sisaket Province and the nation as a whole.
Mr. Saeng added that during the recent campaign, there were numerous complaints, particularly regarding intense speeches that could lead to conflict. However, the Election Commission (EC) has strictly followed the rules to ensure that this by-election is transparent and fair.
In the 2023 election, 69.81 percent of voters cast their ballots, and it is expected that this by-election will see increased voter turnout.
