Hat Yai: Last night, Hat Yai Police Station was alerted to a shooting incident in Khlong Hae Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. At the scene, Ms. Narumon, 55, was discovered injured with a gunshot wound from a .38 revolver that penetrated her cheek, causing significant damage to her teeth. The shooter, identified as Mr. Adison, 30, is her son-in-law. Following the incident, Mr. Adison attempted to flee the scene but was forced into a nearby forest after being pelted with stones by his relatives. Despite a police search using drones for over two hours, the darkness hindered their efforts, and Mr. Adison ultimately surrendered under pressure. According to Thai News Agency, authorities escorted Mr. Adison back to the scene for a reenactment of his confession and to locate the gun used in the shooting. During the reenactment, an altercation occurred when the injured woman's brother attempted to confront Mr. Adison, leading to the brother fainting and requiring medical attention from paramedics. M r. Adison explained that the conflict stemmed from his mother-in-law taking his wife and children away, suggesting that another man intended to propose to his wife, despite their 13-year relationship and having three children together. Mr. Adison recounted to reporters that he was initially unaware of any third-party involvement but was deeply affected when his mother-in-law mentioned a potential suitor for his wife. Despite his attempts to communicate with his wife, he was met with resistance. In a moment of despair, he visited their home with the intention of self-harm but, in an emotional outburst, shot his mother-in-law instead. He expressed deep regret for his actions and extended an apology, acknowledging the momentary loss of control and wishing he could undo his actions. Mr. Adisorn faces several charges, including attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm in public, and discharging a weapon without an urgent need.
