Bangkok: Sontiya has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) to investigate whether Ice Rakchanok's criticism of the drama violated Section 112 of the Criminal Code. At 10:30 AM on May 28, 2026, Mr. Sonthiya Sawasdee arrived at the Central Investigation Bureau's complaint center to file a complaint against Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, or "Ice," a list MP from the People's Party. The complaint pertains to a message posted on her personal Facebook page criticizing the television drama "Sod Soi Mala."
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sonthiya stated that on May 9, 2026, at 5:28 PM, Ms. Rakchanok posted a message criticizing the drama. The drama was one of the projects funded under the Soft Power promotion policy by the THACCA committee. She alleged that the drama, funded by the Thai government through the Ministry of Culture, was ultimately a propaganda tool designed to present history in a way that the Thai state desired. She also criticized the drama's context regarding the "People's Party" and other political rhetoric.
Mr. Sonthiya further stated that the aforementioned statement is false and a distortion of facts. As a Member of Parliament, Ms. Rakchanok should know or should know that the information is untrue and has no connection whatsoever to the Chakri dynasty prior to the change in government. Such actions may constitute an offense under Section 112 of the Criminal Code or other related laws. Therefore, he came to request that the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) investigate and prosecute the case according to legal procedures. Initially, the investigators at the CCIB accepted the case and will present it to their superiors for further investigation.
