Parliament: 'Speaker Sophon' strolled through Thai silk exhibition accompanied by a beauty queen, saying everyone needs the spotlight. House Speaker Sophon Saram visited the booths selling handmade products from the Department of Sericulture, including silk fabrics, food, and drinks, around the Emerald Pool. When a reporter jokingly remarked that he was accompanied by a beauty queen, Mr. Saram replied that it was the first time in his life he had walked with one, explaining that he wanted the beauty queen to showcase Buriram's silk, the city of Thai silk, and Thai silk products, following in the footsteps of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana's "Wear Thai Silk for Fun" project.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sophon continued, "Therefore, today's event will promote two things: the People's Parliament and Thai products. The Parliament is being used as the venue for this event, and the public may not have seen the real Parliament yet. Today, we've added some color by inviting Mrs. Thailand World to enhance the ambiance." Reporters noted that during Mr. Sophon's interview, a photographer requested that the lights be turned on to increase the brightness in the interview area. Mr. Sophon responded, "Of course, because people love light these days." He added, "So we've added light to illuminate the silk fabrics at the Parliament. In three days, please come and see the products from all five regions of Thailand, not just silk, but also handmade handicrafts that we want to promote."
