Bangkok: Minister Sophon led parliamentary officials in a volunteer activity, "One Hundred Hearts of Loyalty, Doing Good for Society," in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 4th cycle birthday anniversary. He aims to promote the Parliament as a national landmark and hopes the new-era Parliament will work closely with the executive branch to rigorously develop legislation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sophon Saram, Speaker of the House of Representatives, along with Mr. Lertsak Pattanachaikul, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Mr. Siroj Paetphan, Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, led approximately 2,000 executives, civil servants, and employees of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives in a volunteer activity for public service under the project 'One Hundred Hearts of Loyalty, Doing Good for Society,' in honor of Her Majesty Queen Suthida's 4th cycle birthday celebration on June 3, 2026. The event took place at the King Prajadhipok Monument and included an oath of allegiance: 'We do good with our hearts.'
Mr. Sophon further elaborated on the 'One Hundred Hearts of Loyalty, Doing Good for Society' project, which commemorates Her Majesty Queen Suthida's 4th cycle birthday celebration. Her Majesty Queen Patcharasutha Phimolalak, on June 3, 2026, stated that since the 27th House of Representatives was convened, she has intended for this assembly to work for the nation in many dimensions. In addition to the meetings of its members, the Parliament building will be renovated to become a landmark and a green space for the country, similar to how other countries use their parliament buildings as a showcase for their nation.
As for civil servants, in addition to supporting the work of members, there will be a focus on developing civil service to work for society and self-development. Volunteer projects are another way to help society and develop personnel in many dimensions. Physically, there will be a promotion of exercise, aerobics, and jogging, and mentally, the promotion of good health through meditation. Successful development requires a holistic approach across all aspects. Mr. Sophon expressed hope that this new parliament will create hope and be a driving force for the country to move forward alongside the executive branch, working rigorously on legislation, and in other roles, contributing to society.
Furthermore, there is a plan for the Parliament building, where at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM every day, teams will be organized to respectfully salute the national flag in an orderly manner. Mr. Sophon and Mr. Lertsak participated in volunteer activities for public benefit around the Parliament building, along with civil servants and staff of the House of Representatives. They will also participate in a merit-making ceremony to commemorate the 4th cycle birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on June 3, 2026, at Wat Kaew Fah Chulamani.
