Nonthaburi: Students involved in the shooting incident at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi, where a Grade 9 student was shot, revealed that they were in class when the incident occurred. Suddenly, they heard several gunshots. They then chatted with older students, urging them to get their friends to take cover because the perpetrator was firing a gun throughout the school building.
According to Thai News Agency, at Bang Yai Hospital, the atmosphere was somber. Many students and parents were waiting in front of the emergency room. Initial reports from the Nonthaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office confirmed 15 injuries, 2 critically injured, and 6 fatalities - 3 teachers and 3 students. The perpetrator is currently still alive and receiving urgent treatment at Bang Kruai Hospital, after reportedly sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the temple.
Most of the injured were sent to Bang Yai Hospital for treatment, while some were transferred to nearby hospitals. Those sent to Bang Yai, if doctors assess their condition as very serious, will be transferred to Phra Nangklao Hospital.
One student who was present at the scene recounted that classes were still in session when the incident occurred. Suddenly, gunshots were heard. They communicated via chat with older students, urging them to get their friends to take cover because the perpetrator was firing indiscriminately. Students began to panic as the gunman walked from Building 5 towards Building 4, firing shots.
