Bangkok: Supajee Suthamphan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, underscored the significance of accurate and comprehensive media reporting in the face of volatile global economic conditions.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Suthamphan presided over the launch of the 8th Journalists' Market Fair, a project aimed at providing journalists with opportunities to sell their products, generate additional income, and establish professional networks. The event highlighted the essential role of the media in delivering precise information amid global economic challenges, geopolitical shifts, and rapid technological progress.
In her address, Ms. Suthamphan stressed the importance of journalists in maintaining the flow of reliable information during these uncertain times. The government, she noted, is committed to implementing measures to sustain trade competitiveness. This commitment is reflected in the continued growth of Thai exports in the first quarter, with agricultural products, particularly durian, showing significant recovery. Durian exports surged by over 109% in April, and Thai rice prices also experienced an increase.
