Supamas Directs Consumer Protection Board to Expedite Refunds for Cancelled Japan Concert

Bangkok:Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, has instructed the Consumer Protection Board to expedite refunds for ticket buyers affected by the cancellation of a concert in Japan. This directive includes coordinating with the Cyber ??Police to assist victims.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Supamas, as the supervisor of the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), has tasked Mr. Pradermchai Boonchuaylue, her advisor, with overseeing the assistance process for those affected by the concert's cancellation. The OCPB has been ordered to speed up the refund process and to collaborate with law enforcement if fraudulent activities are uncovered.

The directive follows an order from October 27th, which tasked the Consumer Protection Board with investigating the ticket sales, payment recipients, and refund procedures. This came after "Hay Apaporn Nakhon Sawan," alongside representatives from her record label and a group of victims, filed a complaint on October 26th, 2026. Efforts are currently focused on identifying which ticket buyers have received refunds and resolving any obstacles to expedite coordination with responsible parties.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has expressed concern over citizens suffering losses from purchasing goods and services that violate regulations, urging government agencies to resolve these issues swiftly. Consequently, Ms. Supamas has directed the Consumer Protection Board to work with the police to ensure timely assistance for victims, protecting their rights and facilitating legal action.

Mr. Pradermchai confirmed that the Consumer Protection Board is coordinating with the police to verify facts and evidence from victims. Should any potential fraudulent activities be identified, the CPB will aid victims in filing complaints with the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) for further investigation.

For ticket buyers, the Consumer Protection Board will consider mediation and legal action if legal conditions are met. Those who have not received refunds are advised to keep proof of purchase, money transfer confirmations, chat logs, and other relevant documents for investigation. Complaints and information can be submitted via the CPB hotline 1166, the OCPB Connect application, the website www.ocpb.go.th, or at CPB offices nationwide.
