Surin: The network of schools in Naeng Mut Subdistrict, Kab Choeng District, Surin Province, has postponed sports competitions to assess the border situation for another two days.
According to Thai News Agency, students from Ban Sathong School in Naengmut Subdistrict, Kabchoeng District, Surin Province, were preparing for the qualifying round of the four-school network sports competition in Maengnud Subdistrict. The competition, initially scheduled to start today and continue until November 21st, faced postponement due to the uncertain conditions on the Thai-Cambodian border. The four school directors, considering the daily assessments of the border situation, decided to delay the competition. They plan to reassess the situation in two days before making further decisions. This postponement has led to disappointment among the students, as only Ban Charn School had arrived, but had to return around 10:00 a.m.
Ban Naeng Mut School plays a crucial role as it is situated nearest to the border. On the day, 280 out of 364 students attended school, with 84 students absent. Some of the missing students have migrated with their parents, while others remain in the area. However, due to uncertainties, parents have not yet sent them back to school.
