Bangkok: Sending a final farewell to "Teacher Saifon," who sacrificed herself to protect her students until her last moment. The royal cremation ceremony took place amidst sorrow, honoring her sacrifice in protecting her students until her last moment.
According to Thai News Agency, the cremation ceremony was held at Wat Suwannaram, Khlong San, for Ms. Saiphon Sirikitjakajorn, an employee of the Student Affairs Office at Thepsirin Nonthaburi School, who died in the horrific mass shooting at Thepsirin Nonthaburi School. The atmosphere was filled with sadness and grief. The ceremony was attended by fellow teachers, students, educational staff, school administrators, and high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Education, who came to pay their respects and bid farewell to Miss Saiphon for the last time.
Amidst the grief, the family of "Teacher Saifon" tearfully reminisced about the departed, speaking of the close family bond and her dedication to her duties. "Teacher Saifon was a loving family woman who enjoyed cooking and was dedicated to teaching and caring for her students. Today, even though we are no longer together as a family, the family affirms that we will take good care of each other. We will always miss Teacher Saifon and wish her a peaceful rest."
For this royal cremation ceremony, Mr. Prasert Chantharawongthong, Minister of Education, presided over the ceremony, along with the executives of the Ministry of Education. Before the ceremony began, Mr. Prasert, representing the government, presented a 1 million baht donation from the Disaster Relief Fund of the Prime Minister's Office to the family of Ms. Saiphon, who died as a result of the incident.
In addition, the Teachers' Council of Thailand presented Miss Saiphon with the "Teacher of Excellence" plaque to honor and commend her for performing her duties with the spirit of a teacher, dedicating herself to caring for and protecting her students to the best of her ability until the end of her life. This serves as a tribute to honor exemplary teachers who demonstrate courage, morality, ethics, and selflessness in the teaching profession. It also reflects the core responsibility of educational personnel, who not only impart knowledge but also ensure the safety and protect students during times of crisis.
On this occasion, His Majesty the King graciously granted royal patronage to Teacher Saifon, bestowed royal cremation rites, and graciously ordered that wreaths from His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen be placed before the coffin. At approximately 4:00 PM, the cremation ceremony commenced, amidst the collective grief as Miss Saiphon was sent to her final resting place.
The passing of "Teacher Saifon Sirikitjakajorn" has not only caused loss to her family and loved ones, but also represents a loss to the education sector. It is another event that reflects the importance of upgrading safety measures in educational institutions to prevent a recurrence of such a tragedy.
