Bangkok: Dr. Atthawich Suwannabhakdi, a Member of Parliament from the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, highlighted the potential benefits of the TH-AI Passport project during a parliamentary session. He proposed that the project be integrated with the Skills Development Fund to facilitate training for Thai workers in utilizing AI technologies within the business sector.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Atthawich explained that existing regulations require businesses with 100 or more employees to either provide training or contribute 1% of their budget to the Skills Development Fund. By incorporating the TH-AI Passport into workforce skills development courses, the initiative could cover over 5 million workers annually, without imposing additional costs on employers.
Dr. Atthawich provided examples of AI applications in content creation, marketing, and online sales. He illustrated how these technologies could enhance work efficiency, create new business opportunities, and boost revenue for entrepreneurs.
He stressed the importance of promoting the TH-AI Passport project, which is still under review. Dr. Atthawich believes that its integration with the Skills Development Fund could significantly upgrade the skills of Thai workers, improve the competitiveness of the business sector, and optimize the use of government budgets.
