Bangkok: Their Majesties King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida attended a royal religious ceremony on Wednesday to mark the seventh day since the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati, the Bureau of the Royal Household reported.
According to Thai News Agency, Their Majesties were accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana and Royal Noble Consort Sininat Bilaskalayani as they traveled to Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall inside the Grand Palace at 5:14 p.m. to perform the Satthamawan (7th-day) memorial service. Other members of the royal family, including Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, were also in attendance.
During the traditional Buddhist ceremony, His Majesty the King laid a wreath and lit incense and candles before the royal urn. Ten Buddhist monks chanted prayers, and a senior monk from Wat Ratchabophit delivered a sermon.
Under royal command, the Bureau of the Royal Household has organized the funeral with the highest royal honors. The Princess's royal urn is currently enshrined under a seven-tiered umbrella of state at the Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall.
Members of the public will be permitted to pay their respects before the royal urn daily at the Grand Palace starting Saturday, June 27, following the completion of the 15th-day royal memorial service.
