Thai PM Anutin Charnvirakul Visits Paris to Strengthen Ties with France

Paris: Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul arrived in Paris to commence an official visit aimed at enhancing energy security, promoting cultural roles, and reinforcing economic relations with France. His arrival at Paris-Orly International Airport marked the beginning of a series of high-level meetings and events.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin's agenda includes discussions with the director of the International Energy Agency (IEA) focusing on Thailand's national energy security. Additionally, he is set to engage with the director-general of UNESCO to elevate Thailand's cultural presence on the international stage. A government spokesperson, Rachada Dhnadirek, confirmed these scheduled engagements.

The prime minister is joined by a delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, and Culture Minister Sabida Thaiseth. This team will support Anutin in various activities throughout the visit.

During the weekend, Anutin is expected to lead a religious ceremony for the Thai community at a local temple and meet with Thai private sector representatives involved in France's food processing, recycling, and restaurant industries. Further, on Sunday, he will head a meeting with Thai ambassadors and consuls-general based in Europe.

The economic and bilateral discussions are planned to extend into the following week. On Monday, Anutin will hold meetings with MEDEF International, the French business confederation, as well as key French executives from the materials, medical equipment, and aerospace industries.

The visit is set to conclude with a dinner on Monday evening, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦¡¬°lys©e Palace, where bilateral cooperation will be a focal point. The Thai delegation is scheduled to complete their visit and depart France on Tuesday, May 26.
