Thai Products Shine at Train Stations in Japan

Bangkok: The Ministry of Commerce is promoting the appeal of Thai products and services in Japan through manga and gachapon machines at Daikanyama T-site and Shimbashi Station in Tokyo. Ms. Sunantha Kangwalkulkit, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), stated that she was following up on the progress of the cooperation under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MIARAWASHIYA LLC and KENELEPHANT Co., Ltd. to promote the image of Thai products and services in Japan through manga and gachapon machines at Daikanyama T-site and Shimbashi Station, Tokyo.

According to Thai News Agency, this initiative is an important approach to propelling Thai soft power into the Japanese market, increasing awareness and building popularity among Japanese consumers of Thai products and services, and linking Thailand’s image with Japan’s popular content industries, including manga and gachapon, which boast high market value and reach a large number of consumers nationwide.

In collaboration with KENELEPHANT Co., Ltd., a major Japanese capsule toy manufacturer, a variety of miniature mascots related to Thai products and services have been developed in the form of ‘Thailand Official Gashapon’, which has been officially certified by Thailand.
