Hat yai: The Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) has invited athletes and artists to participate in the "Road Show and Troop Caravan" event in Hat Yai, aimed at boosting interest in Thailand's hosting of the 2025 SEA Games and the 2026 ASEAN Para Games.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the SAT, presided over the opening ceremony of the 3rd Road Show and Troop Caravan in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. The event sought to raise awareness of Thailand's hosting of the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games. Key attendees included Mr. Chotinrin Kerdsom, Governor of Songkhla Province; Mr. Chucheep Thammapetch, Deputy Governor of Songkhla Province; and Ms. Somjorn Mingkhamlert, Director of the Governor's Office and SAT spokesperson. Thai national athletes, including Mr. Rungroj Thainiyom, Mr. Banphot Silpakong, Mr. Phisit Wangphonphatthanasiri, and table tennis player Mr. Chalermpong Panphu, were joined by ASEAN Para Games athletes Mr. Natdanai Kiangkaew, Sgt. Ilyas Sadara, and Mr. Tinnapat Chancharoen, along with Pencak Silat athletes Ms. Niracha Tangjiu and Ms. Kunnat Onok.
The event also featured fun activities with actors Pearl Satchakon and Peak Phimphon from the series Love In The Moonlight, and a miniconcert by Rooftop artists at the activity area on the 1st floor of Central Hat Yai.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee emphasized the significance of the third Road Show and Troop Caravan, themed "Road to SEA Games and ASEAN PARA Games 2025: Cheer for Thailand with all your heart, and win together." He highlighted SAT's commitment to creating momentum and inspiring nationwide support for the Thai national team as Thailand prepares to host the 33rd SEA Games from December 9-20, 2025, in Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla provinces. The 13th ASEAN Para Games will follow in January 2026 in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, serving as a platform to showcase Thai athletes' potential to an international audience.
Dr. Yodmanee further stated that SAT's comprehensive preparations include organizing competitions, developing athlete potential, and fostering public participation to ensure the success of the 2025 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games. The events aim to inspire Thai youth to appreciate sports' value and encourage them to develop their potential, paving the way for future national team athletes.
