Kantaralak: Thailand has issued a strong condemnation of Cambodia following the firing of a BM-21 multiple rocket launcher that targeted civilians in the Kantaralak District, Sisaket Province. This incident resulted in injuries to four individuals who were seeking shelter in bunkers in Ban Saothongchai.
According to Thai News Agency, the Joint Press Center on the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation released a statement on behalf of the Thai government, denouncing Cambodia’s use of lethal weapons in civilian areas within Thai territory. The attack, which involved the firing of BM-21 rocket launchers, constituted a severe breach of international humanitarian law, particularly violating the Principle of Civilian Protection and the Principle of Distinction.
The Thai government described Cambodia’s actions as unacceptable on an international level, urging all involved parties to immediately cease using weapons against civilians, respect international law, and take responsibility for the harm inflicted on innocent civilians. The statement emphasized Thailand’s commitment to employing all available mechanisms to protect its people and called on the international community to intervene.
Reports from December 13, 2025, detailed the injuries sustained by four individuals when a Cambodian BM-21 rocket exploded near a bomb shelter in Ban Saothongchai. Mr. Kaew Kinnara suffered a broken arm from shrapnel, while Mr. Rampai Suwannasilp sustained a head injury and briefly lost consciousness. Mr. Komsan Sri-uan was struck by shrapnel in the neck, causing facial numbness, and Mr. Seree Pathintree was hit in the head, resulting in swelling. All victims received first aid and are currently under the care of local military medical units.
