Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thammanat Prompao, has assured consumers of the high quality and safety of Thai fresh milk. He emphasized that the Department of Livestock Development and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives maintain stringent controls throughout the production process, ensuring that every drop of milk is free from harmful contaminants.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao confirmed that Thai cow’s milk is pure and safe, with no additives. He highlighted the rigorous production standards supervised by the Department of Livestock Development. Thammanat also referenced products managed by the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO), stating that they consist of 100% pure cow’s milk. The products undergo continuous quality inspections by veterinarians, ensuring fresh, clean, and nutritionally complete milk reaches consumers.
Veterinarian Somchuan Rattanamangklanon, Director-General of the Department of Livestock Development, stated that the department collaborates with cooperatives, raw milk collection centers, and the private sector nationwide to monitor milk quality. This includes health inspections of dairy cows and analysis of raw milk for contaminants before processing. These steps fall under the department’s certification system.
The Department of Livestock Development is also promoting the “Tropical Whole Style” dairy cow breed, which is adapted to hot weather and produces nutritious milk. Additionally, the department supports domestic cultivation of high-quality animal feed to reduce costs and enhance milk quality.
The Director-General reiterated that Thai raw milk meets international standards at every stage, and the department is committed to continuing its supervision to ensure that consumers receive clean, safe, and nutritious milk from Thai farms.
