Phra nakhon si ayutthaya: A cautionary tale unfolded as a young man driving a truck loaded with fresh chicken found himself in a precarious situation when his vehicle fell into a railroad ditch at the Wat Kluai crossing in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Quick action by officials ensured his rescue just before a train approached.
According to Thai News Agency, officials from the Phutthaisawan Radio Center, along with nearby residents, collaborated to extricate a white pickup truck that had become lodged in the median of the railroad tracks at the Wat Kluai railway crossing in Kamang Subdistrict. The truck, carrying fresh chickens, was immobilized with its wheels stuck in rocks. The driver, who remained in the vehicle, attempted to accelerate in an effort to free the truck, but his attempts were unsuccessful.
Phutthaisawan Foundation officials coordinated with a tow truck and alerted the station master to halt the oncoming train. The station master, informed of the situation, ordered the train to stop a kilometer away, averting a potential accident. Using jacks and the assistance of another pickup truck, officials managed to pull the vehicle out of the median, allowing the train to pass safely.
The driver explained that he had been transporting the fresh chicken from Pathum Thani Province to a customer in Khlong Takhian Subdistrict, relying on GPS for navigation. The accident occurred following GPS instructions to “turn left,” which he obeyed without noticing the darkness, leading to the truck’s fall into the median. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties, and the driver emerged unscathed.
