Bangkok: Police Colonel Thawee Sodsong, the Minister of Justice, announced that the one-year prison sentence for former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra will be carried out in strict accordance with the regulations of the Department of Corrections. This statement followed the Supreme Court’s decision to impose the sentence in a Class 14 case against Thaksin.
According to Thai News Agency, Police Colonel Thawee emphasized that the decision to imprison Thaksin was not a topic of discussion during the recent Cabinet meeting. He assured that the Department of Corrections will ensure that all procedures and regulations are followed diligently in executing the Supreme Court’s ruling.
