The People’s Party Calls for Stricter Gun Control Following Nonthaburi School Shooting

Nonthaburi: The People's Party has expressed sorrow over the tragic shooting incident at Thepsirin School and is urging the implementation of stricter firearm controls and enhanced security measures in educational institutions to prevent future tragedies.

According to Thai News Agency, a message posted on the People's Party's Facebook page conveyed their deepest condolences to the victims and those injured in the shooting at Thepsirin School, Nonthaburi, which occurred this morning (August 7, 2026). The party extended its support to the families of the deceased, as well as to the students, teachers, and staff affected by this tragic event. The message highlighted the concern over violence occurring in a place that should be one of the safest in society, despite the unclear motive for the attack.

The incident has prompted a call for a serious and systematic review of gun control measures in Thailand. The People's Party emphasized the need for enhanced security in places with large gatherings, such as schools and hospitals, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
