Bangkok: “Warawut” has instructed the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in three southern provinces to visit families affected by violence. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), emphasized the need for immediate support for those impacted by the violence, particularly focusing on innocent and vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and the disabled.
According to Thai News Agency, the MSDHS teams in the affected areas have been tasked with visiting these families to provide encouragement and monitor their mental well-being. Mr. Varawut highlighted the importance of officials performing their duties with caution and offering support to security personnel and the Department of Vulnerable Persons. Despite the challenges, he stressed that the Ministry does not condone any form of violence and is committed to supporting those impacted.
Mr. Varawut also spoke about a project by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security designed to assist citizens during the school term opening. Through the Government Pawnshop, which has 47 branches nationwide, a new initiative offers interest-free loans for five months on amounts up to 1,000 baht. This initiative aims to ease people’s financial burdens as the school year begins, with the process simplified to require only a single ID card for access. The Ministry recognizes the financial hardships that accompany the start of the school term and is taking measures to improve liquidity for families during this period.
