Chachoengsao: Wild elephants invaded a community, causing chaos as villagers fled for their lives. CCTV footage captured the moment a wild elephant, in a state of aggression, charged at children in the middle of a community, causing panic and chaos as residents fled for their lives.
According to Thai News Agency, wild elephants invaded the Khum Klang community, Village No. 13, Ban Khlong Takian, Tha Takiap District, Chachoengsao Province, traversing through villagers' homes and causing panic. Reporters, including Nuengruthai and Rungruedee, who were on the scene, met with community members discussing the incident.
Ms. Nungruthai, still in shock, recounted the moment of the incident, saying she heard dogs barking and then they all ran off, trampling on things in front of the shop and scattering them. She then heard shouts from the house across the street that an elephant was coming. Everything happened so quickly. Her two children and three or four grandchildren, aged 5-10, were playing in front of the shop. Her husband and relatives all ran in panic, fleeing for their lives, because they never expected a wild elephant to appear in the middle of their community.
Ms. Rungruedee, whose house is across the street and who is also still in a state of shock, recounted that she heard her dog barking, so she closed her window and saw the back of a wild elephant before going to open the door to call her children and grandchildren inside. However, upon opening the door, she encountered a large wild elephant and quickly slammed the door shut. The elephant then returned a second time. She urged the relevant authorities to urgently address the threat posed by wild elephants. Currently, she, her children, and other villagers are all frightened and worried.
