Bangkok: Wisut Chainarun, a prominent figure in the Pheu Thai Party, expressed his confidence that Paethongtarn will receive justice amidst ongoing political discussions. Wisut, who serves as the Government Whip, emphasized that if the current Prime Minister remains in position, justice for Paethongtarn is assured. He further asserted that even if changes occur, the leadership will remain within the Pheu Thai Party, without shifting alliances or involving the Bhumjaithai Party.
According to Thai News Agency, Wisut Chainarun dismissed concerns among Pheu Thai Party MPs regarding an upcoming Constitutional Court decision. This decision pertains to an audio clip involving the Prime Minister and Samdech Hun Sen, set for August 29th. Wisut stated that party members remain calm and positive, believing that the Prime Minister's actions are in the national interest, particularly in relation to safeguarding Thai citizens in Cambodia. He expressed confidence in the Prime Minister's intentions and stated that there is no necessity for contingency plans, as future policy directions have been considered.
Wisut reiterated his stance that the Prime Minister will continue to belong to the Pheu Thai Party, with Mr. Chaikasem maintaining his role. He assured that there is no need for a factional change, even with a minimal majority. Wisut highlighted that the Pheu Thai Party's principles, as outlined in the constitution, ensure continuity, and any potential changes will be addressed in the next term based on public support.
In response to inquiries about the possibility of a new Prime Minister emerging from the coalition government, Wisut categorically denied such prospects, focusing instead on economic stability and citizens' well-being. He expressed confidence in the current Prime Minister and reiterated that no changes are expected.
When questioned about potential involvement of the Bhumjaithai Party in the event of a leadership change, Wisut indicated that such a scenario is unlikely. He affirmed the party's trust in the Prime Minister and confidence in eventual justice.
