Amsterdam: The Netherlands national football team has officially announced the appointment of Xavi Hernandez as their head coach, tasking him with building a team for the 2030 World Cup.
According to Thai News Agency, Xavi Hernandez has been unemployed as a coach since June 2024, with his most recent management role being at Barcelona, his former club where he played for over 10 years. This new role marks Hernandez's first time managing a national football team.
The need for a new coach arose after the Netherlands were eliminated in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup. The "Oranje" had to find a replacement for Ronald Koeman, who resigned following the team's early exit from the tournament.
