Authorities Arrest Nigerian Drug Kingpin in Bangkok Raid

Bangkok: The Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, along with the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), launched an operation to dismantle the Dodorima drug gang, successfully arresting the leader of an international drug trafficking ring in front of a condominium on Rama 3 Road. The suspect attempted to escape by ramming his car into officers but was ultimately apprehended.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Thamsuthee, Deputy Commander of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police, spearheaded the "Clip the Wings of the Dodorima Gang Leader" operation. The arrest of the Nigerian national, identified as the leader of a transnational drug trafficking network, marked a significant breakthrough. During the operation, a search of the premises revealed evidence valued at over 700,000 baht, underscoring the magnitude of the criminal enterprise.

The Dodorima gang has been active in Thailand for seven years, cleverly masking its illegal activities by engaging in charitable work and forming alliances with influential personalities. The organization has grown from merely trafficking drugs to operating a significant network with financial transactions exceeding 380 million baht. These operations allowed the gang to channel funds back to Nigeria to construct lavish residences.
