Bangkok: Metropolitan Police investigators have dismantled a major online gambling network with a turnover exceeding 1 billion baht. Arrest warrants have been issued for 30 people involved in the network; 19 have already been arrested, and the remaining suspects are being pursued.
According to Thai News Agency, the Center for Prevention and Suppression of Illegal Gambling on the 2026 World Cup, under the Metropolitan Police Investigation Bureau, launched an operation to dismantle a major online gambling network. The network advertised and enticed the public to play online gambling games, including football betting, slots, baccarat, and roulette, with a turnover exceeding 1 billion baht. It was discovered that the operation used numerous proxy accounts to receive and transfer money.
Investigators obtained arrest warrants from the court for 30 people involved in the network. Nineteen have already been arrested, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects. All suspects will be prosecuted on charges of jointly organizing online gambling, jointly soliciting online gambling, jointly organizing online football betting, as well as charges of conspiracy and money laundering.
