Bangkok: The latest update on the Bangkok gubernatorial and Bangkok City Council elections reveals a calm and orderly atmosphere in the northern Thonburi district. The Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bangkok has ensured preparations are in place to address potential heavy rain expected this afternoon.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kanokwan Eiamlim, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, conducted an inspection of the election process for the Bangkok Metropolitan Council members and the Governor of Bangkok in the Thonburi North district group. She also participated in the voting at polling station 45, located in Sala Thammasop Subdistrict, Thawi Watthana District.
Ms. Kanokwan reported a steady flow of voters from the morning, with an orderly atmosphere and smooth traffic around polling stations. The district office collaborated with police and relevant agencies to manage traffic and facilitate voter access, ensuring suitable parking areas were available. Election officials were diligent in assisting the elderly, disabled, and general public.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has urged district offices to monitor weather conditions closely, advising citizens to vote early to avoid the forecasted afternoon rain. Precautions have been taken to protect polling stations from rain and strong winds, ensuring the vote counting process remains smooth and transparent after polls close at 5:00 PM.
