Bangkok: Cast your ballot just before the polls close! Don't forget your umbrella! The Meteorological Department forecasts an increased chance of thunderstorms in Bangkok and surrounding areas during the afternoon and evening of the Bangkok gubernatorial and Bangkok City Council elections. Moderate to heavy rain is possible in many areas. Voters are advised to plan their visit to the polls and arrive in the morning, bringing umbrellas or raincoats if traveling in the afternoon.
According to Thai News Agency, the weather forecast indicates clear skies with partly cloudy skies this morning in Bangkok and surrounding areas. Although it will be relatively hot, it will still be suitable for traveling to cast your votes in the Bangkok gubernatorial and Bangkok Metropolitan Council member elections before rain clouds begin to form in the afternoon.
The Meteorological Department forecasts a high risk of thunderstorms between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, with moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds. Heavy rain is possible in northern Bangkok, particularly in Don Mueang, Bang Khen, Sai Mai, Saphan Sung, Nong Chok, and Min Buri districts, while other districts have a chance of light to moderate rain.
The Meteorological Department advises voters to plan their journeys well in advance to avoid the impact of evening rain. They should also bring umbrellas or raincoats and allow extra travel time as rain may cause traffic congestion in many areas.
For polling stations located outdoors, ensure the stability of tents and equipment is checked, and be vigilant against strong winds, flooding, and electrical hazards should it rain after the polls close, as this could affect the work of officials at some stations.
The public is advised to continuously monitor information from the Meteorological Department, including radar and satellite imagery.
