Cambodia Engages in Night-Long Intermittent Firing and Drone Surveillance Over Trat

Bangkok: Cambodia opened fire intermittently throughout the night and sent drones to survey the city of Trat. Residents living near the border in Chamrak were forced to take shelter in bunkers. The overnight activity has heightened tensions and impacted the daily lives of those residing in the affected areas.

According to Thai News Agency, the situation in Chamrak was particularly tense as drones were seen flying throughout the night, prompting villagers, community defense units, and volunteers to seek refuge in bunkers. Despite the continuous firing, village security officers reported that patrols proceeded smoothly with no unusual incidents observed, apart from the presence of several drones in various locations.

In response to the overnight aggression, the Thai military retaliated this morning, and village security teams are now maintaining a rear-line watch. The area known as the three houses remains inaccessible due to Cambodian forces being entrenched and actively engaging in gunfire. Additionally, the presence of landmines, planted as a defensive measure by Cambodian forces, poses a significant barrier to Thai military operations.

Amidst the ongoing tension, a group of volunteer housewives has taken the initiative to set up a kitchen, ensuring that meals are prepared for all staff and volunteers engaged in the effort to manage the situation.
