Gen. Samran Nualma, Deputy Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police and Director of the Traffic Management Center, Royal Thai Police, has instructed the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Command to deploy its full complement of traffic police officers to facilitate traffic flow, ensure public safety, and disseminate traffic route information to the public during Thailand’s hosting of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2025) from December 9-20, 2025. Eleven nations will participate, with competitions held in 10 provinces across Thailand, particularly in Bangkok, where there are 32 venues.
According to Thai News Agency, the opening ceremony for the Games will be held today at 7:00 PM at Rajamangala National Stadium, Hua Mak, Bangkok. Doors will open at 12:00 PM. A large number of spectators, athletes, and attendees are expected. Therefore, rapid response teams should be prepared to manage traffic, and tow trucks should be on standby in case of vehicle breakdowns or obstructions. Traffic police are instructed to perform their duties to the best of their ability, coordinating closely with all relevant agencies to manage traffic until the situation eases, minimizing any impact on surrounding areas and overall traffic flow.
Furthermore, Pol. Gen. Nithithorn stated that he requests cooperation from those attending the opening ceremony and the competitions to use public transportation instead of private cars, such as buses, the Airport Rail Link, and public ferries for greater convenience. The Sports Authority of Thailand has also arranged shuttle buses to transport people to and from the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games at Rajamangala National Stadium, operating from 12:00 PM until the end of the event as follows:
