Bangkok: Dr. Joe Chaiwat, representing the People's Party, has launched a significant final push in his campaign for the position of Bangkok Governor. He has initiated 10 mobile campaign routes throughout the city to engage directly with residents, encouraging them to support the People's Party in the upcoming elections.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chaiwat Sathawichit, candidate number 10 for the Bangkok Governor position, commenced his campaign in the Bang Kapi district, proceeding through Wang Thonglang, Suan Luang, Phra Khanong, and concluding in Bang Na. This initiative aims to galvanize voter support for both the Bangkok Governor and City Council elections scheduled for Sunday, June 28th.
Throughout the campaign, Mr. Chaiwat emphasized the importance of voter participation, urging Bangkok residents to reflect on their satisfaction with the current state of the city. He highlighted challenges such as difficulty accessing healthcare, infrastructure issues during adverse weather, and widespread corruption. He stressed that this election represents a pivotal opportunity for change, advocating for the necessity of electing committed City Council members from each district to drive transformation.
Mr. Chaiwat pointed to the successful administration of Lamphun under the People's Party as evidence of the potential for positive change. He assured voters that electing him and People's Party councilors would bring about a dedicated and ready-to-act administrative team, poised to collaborate with the Progressive Movement.
The campaign will culminate in a final rally on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Benjakitti Park. This event will feature speeches from key party figures, including Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, Mr. Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn, Mr. Suphanat Meenchainan, and Ms. Piangpanon Boonklam, along with People's Party Bangkok City Council candidates.
