Dr. Joe Moves Forward with Building a People-Caring City: Teng Reveals Bangkok’s Election as a Big Dream for the Public

Bangkok: Mr. Chaiwat Sathavorawichit, the People's Party's candidate for Bangkok Governor, has unveiled his vision and roadmap for his first 100 days in office, focusing on building a city that prioritizes the welfare of its residents. He detailed urgent tasks to be undertaken from his first day, as well as long-term goals, to transform Bangkok into a city that supports its citizens, reduces living costs, and offers equitable access to quality public services. The roadmap includes goals for easy family living, lifestyle, business, and transportation. Immediate actions include requesting an increase in healthcare provider quotas from the National Health Security Office.

According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) plans to expand its Golden Card healthcare coverage from 800,000 to 1 million people. Efforts are being made to improve the referral system for better medical treatment access. Within the first week, patient transport trips will increase to 180,000 annually, funded by the Bangkok Health Insurance Fund. The BKK Red Flag AI system will be launched to monitor potential corruption and misuse of BMA funds. Within the first month, the city aims to resolve odor pollution from the On Nut waste disposal plant by implementing a closed-loop waste management system.

Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, a party-list MP and leader of the People's Party, emphasized the importance of dreaming big in politics. He reflected on the journey from the Future Forward Party and the Move Forward Party to the People's Party, highlighting the goal of empowering people. The Bangkok election is seen as a significant step to advance local politics and promote decentralization. He urged voters to choose a leader who can drive real change, emphasizing the need for a leader with clear political will, a professional management team, and supportive local councilors.

During Mr. Nattapong's speech, a microphone malfunction led to a humorous remark comparing the fragile microphone cable to Thai politics, which was well-received by his audience. Mr. Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, Chairman of the Progressive Movement, addressed Bangkok's flooding issues. He highlighted the benefits of using high-pressure water jet cleaning equipment for drainage, proposing AI Smart City technology to better manage water levels and blockages. He emphasized small changes leading to significant societal impacts and expressed hope for the People's Party to lead, advocating for a better Thailand.
