Ban tai ko: The area of Tai Ko Subdistrict in Sam Khok District, Pathum Thani Province, is facing severe flooding. Schools, temples, and hundreds of houses have been submerged as this region becomes the first checkpoint to receive water from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the inundation of Tambon Tai Ko follows the release of an additional 2,900 cubic meters of water per second from the Chao Phraya Dam. This area, which borders Bang Sai District in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, has seen most of its regions along the Chao Phraya River flooded. In response, residents have moved their cars and pets to higher ground on the roadside, where the water has not yet encroached. The only means of accessing or leaving their homes is by boat and foam floats.
A local villager reported that the floodwaters have been a persistent issue for about three months, initially receding only to return at greater levels. Some homes have already been evacuated, and while annual flooding is common along the riverside, this year’s levels have surpassed those of the previous year.
