Bangkok: The Ministry of Agriculture is set to propose a relief measure amounting to 3,000 baht per household to the Cabinet for approval. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to households impacted by recent adversities.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture has already approved the relief measure and plans to present it to the Cabinet for consideration. The proposal includes a request for a central budget of 3,237.708 million baht to support the initiative. Ms. Ayrin Phanrit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, stated that the relief measure is intended for farmers registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The measure targets approximately 1,079,236 affected households, comprising 565,565 in the crop sector, 65,239 in the fisheries sector, and 448,432 in the livestock sector.
The Ministry is expediting the preparation of detailed plans to be submitted to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Colonel Thammanat Prompela. The proposal will also address the need for a central budget to aid farmers affected by the 2015 southern floods, which will then be forwarded to the Cabinet for approval.
The government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, aims to implement comprehensive relief measures for disaster victims. This includes verifying farmer registrations across various sectors to ensure that affected households receive assistance. The approach emphasizes “speed, accuracy, and access to every household,” aiming for transparent and comprehensive support in line with regulations.
