Phawut Ready to Prove Source of 28 Million Baht, Denies Involvement in Forex Trading

Bangkok: "Phawut" explained that the 28 million baht flowing into his account came from gold investments, insisting he has no involvement in Forex trading. He stated he will not use his parliamentary immunity and is willing to prove the truth.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pawut Pongwitayapanu, a Member of Parliament from the People's Party, posted on his personal Facebook page clarifying the source of the 28 million baht deposited into his account. He stated, "Following the DSI's statement on June 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM, I would like to clarify the following: Before entering politics, I ran various businesses such as online commerce, online payment systems, and numerous technology providers. I also served as a consultant to various types of businesses, with clients including both domestic and internationally registered companies, as is natural for online businesses. However, before fully entering politics, I have already resigned from all directorships and shares in the companies involved in this matter. Therefore, I cannot comment on the companies in question as I am no longer associated with them."

Regarding the 28 million baht that appeared in his bank account, Mr. Pawut clarified that three years ago, he opened a gold trading account through a broker. He described this gold investment as similar to online gold trading, a common investment method used by many individuals. He explained that the money deposited into his account is therefore presumed to be from this gold investment, noting that he deposited and withdrew funds from the trading account multiple times. Ultimately, however, he incurred losses and stopped investing a long time ago.

Mr. Pawut expressed uncertainty about the exact timing or origin of the 28 million baht that the DSI claims appeared in his account, suggesting that the information released by the DSI may be inaccurate. He stated his readiness to provide all necessary information for further investigation, in order to verify and confirm the truth.

Currently facing public suspicion regarding his personal life, Mr. Pawut asserted that he has no involvement in any investment solicitation, fraud, scams, or online gambling activities. He affirmed his willingness to cooperate with any investigation, without using his parliamentary immunity, and expressed his preparedness to provide information to relevant agencies to ensure transparency and clarity for the public.
