PM-Thaksin Attends Nation TV’s 25th Anniversary Celebration

Bangkok: Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra joined former prime ministers Thaksin Shinawatra, Settha Thavisin, and Chuan Leekpai in celebrating the 25th anniversary of Nation TV. The event took place at Interlink Tower, the Nation Building, located on Theparat Road in Bangna District.

According to Thai News Agency, Abhisit Vejjajiva, who had initially planned to attend, canceled his visit due to urgent business matters, despite his followers already being present at the venue. The celebration was also attended by several ministers, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, Minister of Industry Ekkanat Promphan, and Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Jiraporn Sindhuphrai.

Reporters noted the unexpected presence of Anutin Charnvirakul at the event, given the known ties between the blue political party and Nation Group media. Anutin, along with politicians from the Bhumjaithai Party, joined in conversations with the Prime Minister and Nation Group executives, expressing his longstanding connection with Nation TV. Anutin remarked on his 20-year association with the media group, emphasizing familiarity with its members and clarifying that his attendance was not an act of reconciliation.
