Prime Minister Advocates for Unified Effort to End Violence by 2025

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has actively joined the campaign to end violence against children, women, and family members by 2025. He has called upon the Thai people to demonstrate their power to resolve issues without resorting to violence. He emphasized the need for all sectors to collaborate in creating a safe society and to play a key role in ending all forms of violence.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul spoke on the occasion of the 2025 “Campaign to End Violence Against Children, Women, and Family Members.” He expressed his thoughts and best wishes to all Thai citizens and families. The United Nations has designated November 25th as the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women,” aimed at raising public awareness of violence against women and girls globally and encouraging a stance against all forms of violence.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the Thai Cabinet resolved on June 29, 1999, to designate November as the “Month of Campaign to End Violence Against Children and Women.” This initiative aims to raise public awareness and encourage collective efforts to eliminate violence in Thai society.

Domestic violence impacts victims directly and serves as a root cause of several issues affecting economic and social development. The government acknowledges the significance of addressing domestic violence and has implemented measures to monitor, protect, and provide redress to those affected. Efforts are also being made to promote strong family ties through positive values and cultural practices, with cooperation from various agencies and networks to achieve tangible outcomes.

The Prime Minister highlighted the increasing accessibility of digital technology, which has introduced new forms of cyber threats that contribute to domestic violence. This year, the government is focusing on a campaign titled “Ending Digital Violence for Women and Girls.” This initiative aims to encourage societal vigilance against digital threats and to unite efforts in ending violence against vulnerable groups.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that the collective efforts in this campaign would foster love, understanding, and compassion within families and Thai society, creating a protective shield against domestic and social violence. This initiative is seen as a means to strengthen the family institution, ensuring a solid societal foundation in Thailand.

In an appeal to all Thai citizens, the Prime Minister urged a united front against violence in all forms, promoting peaceful coexistence and a high quality of life for everyone. He encouraged individuals to communicate and reflect before taking action, aiming for a harmonious society where everyone enjoys safety and peace.
